steine und is an independent studio, exploring the relationship between
fine art, material based practices & living environments.

We value our cross-disciplinary approach in which making, exhibiting and
coming together are part of an ongoing exchange beyond conventional categories.

Founded in 2024 by Artists Katharina Liebl and Julian Mack in Vienna, Austria

we are working towards a blend of what matters most to us...

being free, honoring the material, idea, craft, thought, impulse,

taking good care of what we own and who we are with,

to learn and to unlearn, making space, making kin,

finding our ways within capitalism, deep partnership.

an endless curiosity for material that moves us, undefined
